Open weekdays, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

The best day ever. Their words, not mine.

A licensed family child care home on a quiet dead-end street in East Manchester. Licensed for nine: six children through the day, plus three who are in school full time. Ages six weeks to twelve years.

Five children with me now.

One space open for September 2026

Hour by hour

Half past seven to four in the afternoon.

Parents ask what the day looks like, so here it is. The times bend around the kids. If someone needs one more chapter before nap, they get one.

  1. Arrivals and breakfast
  2. Free play, crafts, letters and counting
  3. Structured activity or outside, on the rail trail or swing set
  4. Lunch, cooked here this morning
  5. Story time, everyone picks the book
  6. Nap
  7. Snack, then play until pickup

Hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Closed weekends and holidays. Current holidays and vacation dates are shared with families through a Google Calendar you can add to your own.

What’s offered

It isn’t a babysitting gig. It’s my career, and I take it that seriously.

A family child care home is a licensed category of its own: an early-education program that runs in a house, with six children in it. Why families choose it over a center.

Meals I cook here

Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are included in the fee. Meatloaf, pulled pork, chicken pie, homemade chicken soup, homemade pizza.

I love to cook, and they eat well.

Learning, the ordinary way

Colors, shapes, songs, the alphabet, counting. Sharing, apologizing, saying please.

Outside every day

The yard, the rail trail, the pool in summer. They come home tired.

Crafts and holidays

Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas presents go home with them. Every birthday gets celebrated.

Six through the day, nine on the license

Six children during the day is the state maximum for one provider. My license covers three more who are in school full time, and those three come after school, on snow days and through the school vacations. Most of them are brothers and sisters, or children who were here years ago and still come back.

Six is the number that matters. It is why I know every one of them.

Testimonials from my families

Some of them have been writing to me for twenty years.

I highly recommend Lisa’s Family Daycare. Our son started going to Lisa when he was three months old. Now at 9 months, we could not be happier with our choice. The way our son smiles and reaches for Lisa when he sees her says it all.

She clearly puts a lot of love and attention into making a warm, safe, clean and fun environment. We are grateful every day that our little one is taken care of by “Auntie” Lisa.

Caroline LavoieSon with Lisa since three months old

My son started at Lisa’s daycare when he was 1. It was the best decision we ever made! She treated him like he was her own son. He learned so many things under her care — field trips, gym classes, and music classes.

She helped shape him into the fine young 17-year-old man he is today. I hope she is still working when I have grandchildren.

Megan HoldenSon now seventeen

Best caregiver you could ever ask for. Lisa was practically my second mother. Now being 22 years old and still having contact with her shows how loving and caring of a person she is.

I will always look back at my daycare days with Lisa and smile — they were some of the best and brightest days of my childhood. There is no doubt in my mind that when I have children they will also be in her care.
